KATE EAMES
- Founder, Licensed PE + GC
Kate didn't arrive at custom home building the conventional way. She spent the early part of her career as an engineer, often the only woman in the room, first in construction litigation, then in residential building. That path gave her something most builders don't have: a deep, technical understanding of why buildings fail.
Her litigation work focused on building envelope systems, the assemblies that keep water out, manage heat and humidity, and determine whether a home holds its integrity over decades. She's reviewed the failures, and she has spent every year since building homes that never end up there.
After nearly two decades, Kate made the leap, leaving a successful career to found The Anchor Group, start her own construction company, and build the kind of firm she had always believed was possible. One that treated design as sacred, science as non-negotiable, and the client relationship as the foundation for everything.
Beyond the job site, Kate is a committed advocate for women in the trades and in construction leadership. She founded organizations to support women entering the industry and is actively building platforms to mentor the next generation of builders, engineers, and entrepreneurs.
The People Behind Every Project
Building a luxury custom home requires a team that is as invested in the outcome as you are. Ours is.
Our name reflects the foundation of our approach: to serve as a steady, trusted anchor throughout the building process, bringing clarity, integrity, and precision to every decision.
We work with clients who value both inspired architectural vision and disciplined execution, offering a seamless design-build experience that thoughtfully integrates creativity with constructability. Housing design and construction under one roof enables a more refined process, marked by greater collaboration, efficiency, and alignment from the earliest concepts to the final details.
Behind every project is a carefully assembled team of architects, designers, artisans, trade partners, and trusted vendors united by a shared standard of excellence. Together, we create homes that are both deeply personal and meticulously executed spaces that feel as effortless in function as they are beautiful in form.
At The Anchor Group, we see ourselves not simply as builders, but as stewards of the process. We guide our clients with transparency, expertise, and a deep respect for the significance of creating a home.
Because the most meaningful homes are not merely built, but intentionally crafted to endure.
